Alternative travel routes for events

This information is for customers who have booked/booking for our 10am, 1pm and 4pm sessions during events such as Motofest, Coventry Half Marathon or Godiva Festival at War Memorial.

Please use the following travel plans if using during sessions that aren’t affected by events:

If you are visiting us during an event that uses the nearby roads and at Salt Lane Car Park, we will be expecting a higher volume of traffic around us during this time.

If possible, we recommend travelling earlier than normal to ensure you are able to make your session on time. 

During Motofest:

If you are travelling by car during Motofest:

We recommend coming travelling from west on Sky Blue Way/A4600 towards Oxford St, at the roundabout take the 1st exit onto Gosford St, continue onto Jordan Wl/B4544, take St Johns St to Little Park St/B4544 and turn left into Salt Lane on Little Park St (B4544) to avoid any disruptions and confirmed closures around New St and connecting roads.

During Coventry Half Marathon (Sessions from 10am to 1pm only):

If you are travelling by car during Coventry Half Marathon:

We recommend travelling via south of Coventry and parking at either Grosvenor Car Park, Rail Station Car Park and Skydome Car Park. Disabled Parking car parking can be found at all these car parks.

Please note parking will be busier than usual, with Salt Lane Car Park and Barrack’s Car Park being unavailable due to road closures. Discount Parking is only available when parking and using the waterpark at Salt Lane Car Park.

Road closures will also be at New Union Street (front of The Wave) and Little Park Street (towards entrance to Salt Lane Park). For more information please view the map below:

During events near War Memorial:

If you travelling by car during a big event at War Memorial, eg Godiva Festival:

We recommend coming travelling the A4053, exit 5 onto Mile Lane, onto New Union St and Little Park St (B4544) to avoid any disruptions and confirmed closures around A429 Kenilworth Road and Leamington Road (near War Memorial Park).

For example, during Godiva, the following roads are affected:

• Northbound carriageway of Leamington Road between junctions with Daventry Road and Warwick Road.
• Coat of Arms Bridge Road closed between junctions with Kenilworth Road and Stivichall Croft – outbound traffic only.
• Stivichall Croft between junctions with Coat of Arms Bridge Road and Armorial Road – outbound traffic only.

Parking

We are anticipating that Salt Lane Car Park and Barracks* Car Park to be fuller than usual. For more information about salt lane car parking, visit:

There are also public transport alternatives available, including 8 minute walk from Coventry Rail Station or getting a bus to our front door! For more information about public transport routes, visit:

*please note that our discounted parking will not be valid for this site.

In the event Salt Lane car park is closed:

Guest may be able to use the car park prior the closure. eg. a closure occurs at 9:45am, guest for the 10am session will be able to park prior 9:45am.

However, guests may wish to use the Barracks car park for £1 per day (accessible via Little Park St), Coventry Rail Station Car Park or travel via public transport.
